
Ford Castle is a Grade I listed medieval building sitting on a hillside in Ford & Etal Estates, North Northumberland. The castle dates from about 1278. It was taken by James IV of Scotland on the eve of the Battle of Flodden in 1513. In 1907 it was acquired by coal-mining magnate James Joicey, 1st Baron Joicey, and it remains in his family. The event will take place in the open-air courtyard with spectacular views across to the Cheviots. Please bring chairs, blankets and a picnic or treat yourself to something delicious provided by one of our local caterers.
